Nixa Apprenticeship Program
Definition: A registered youth apprenticeship work experience provides a student the opportunity to gain the skills necessary in the world of work by performing the duties of a given job. The student may receive high school credit upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Purpose: Apprenticeships are intended to provide the student with a broad experience in the workplace in a specific career pathway. The student will be required to master specific skills and competencies as it relates to their job description as determined by the Department of Labor.
In general, each student/worker will:
- Develop and improve work-based skills.
- Improve interpersonal and communication skills.
- Improve problem solving and team building skills.
- Develop an understanding of the connection between school learning and workplace application.
General Policies:

- The training agreement must be completed and maintained for each student participating in the program.
