Some exciting projects are well underway in the district. First is the Apex Activity Center at the high school. Crews at Killian Construction Company have been working hard, laying the groundwork for the multipurpose structure. Work is scheduled to wrap up in July. Meanwhile, on the east side of the district over at High Pointe, the storm shelter and building addition is more than halfway complete. Nesbitt Construction is the general contractor for this project.

Junior high students can take classes like archery in June, which aren't offered during the regular school year. This allows those entering their seventh-grade year to understand what school will be like in a new building. Administrators have noticed that the kids who take summer classes tend to ask fewer questions during the first few weeks of school and are better acclimated to the routine.
